Sorry for not writing earlier but we had internet problems.
We are now settled in quite location in Sagana. After a long day of missionary work and a two hour drive, we attend mass followed by dinner.
A short break and the group meets for an evaluation of the days work.
I must say that the medical team has the toughest job. the hospital they are visiting offers minimal support to the professional service that has to be given.Patients have to sometimes share a bed and hygienic conditions are lacking. However the local staff do their work with such love and dedication.
Last Thursday the Bishop of the Diocese of Embu together with Fr.Colin Apap blessed the site on which the Orphanage is being built.
The foundations are in an advanced stage and concrete has been poured and reinforcement is being prepared.
Our team is working along local workers on this ambitious project. The Bishop has secured a Bank loan to be able to build an orphanage much larger than we proposed. The generosity of the Maltese benefactors is being shown by calling this the Malta project.

A visit by the social integration team to Edaimuria Parish gave the opportunity to the local youths to share experiences.
A collaborative effort was made to spend time with local children and visit poor families. The depravation of essential needs of these families compels one to take immediate action to alleviate their problems even for a short time. A school for disabled children was also visited. The people met were charitable in their own way and generally happy with their lives despite the conditions they live in.
Today we have finally received all the equipment from Malta required for the water purification project.
A long week of work lies ahead of us.
We look forward to give much in terms of love towards those we meet.
From all of us here in Kenya
