Dearest Bishop Paul,
Thanks for the early reply.
I feel much better now that we have all the assurances that we need. Yesterday all the group met to discuss the latest developments and planning. We prayed together that this Mission will be a Mission so that Jesus will be known more and loved more. We prayed for you and for our Diocese of Embu "terra amata" - anche da noi tutti qui a Malta.
I feel enthusiastic...much of my fears are gone now. You have worked so much too on your part and I wish to thank you for all that you are doing for us.
Today is packing day - we have hundreds of kilos to be carried by the 30 volunteers. Each one will carry 60 kilos of things besides his personal luggage. It's was not easy to co-ordinate the work but I assure you Bishop Paul that each and everyone of those who are coming, with their families too, have been doing a wonderful work so that this Mission will be fruitful.
On a personal level we will have a lot of tears too: some of us had to have their parents recovered in hospitals and People's Homes and it's not easy to leave Malta knowing that your parents are still not settled in their Home; some are nervous; some are apprehensive to what we are to find in Cairo Airport; and so many questions the answer for which we leave to this God of Surprises who knows what His plan for us is. This is the price to pay too.
We are a very tight family - our relationships and friendship are tangible. This was always a challenging thought for me and yet I realized during yesterday's meeting how deep is our commitment to each other. Now we are seeing the fruits of so many meetings of formation to prepare ourselves - thanks also for Fr David Kiranga who was present for various meetings here in Malta.
The place you have chosen guarantees our security and wellbeing. I was not expecting so much. THANKS!!!
